Know Me

Life Story of Rashi

rbunWhen she was a little girl, she drowned herself in the arts and reading for she could not fathom the world of hierarchy, patriarchy and control. Despite being a topper in every subject, both academic and extra-curricular she seemed to be the invisible girl child in a typical joint family. Her seeking for the purpose of life and existence is as old as that. And that is why through the meanderings & learning of her own journey, she brought the possibility of self-discovery to every life she touched.

Born to a singer-sailor and the first woman designer from National School of Drama, She lived an unusual life on the sea & land. Studying at an Experimental primary school in Delhi, she excelled in every stream of learning and was awarded the All Rounder Best student in 1985. Winning the prestigious Residential scholarship from Ministry of Education, she finished her schooling from Maharani Gayatri Devi School with awards for Excellence in language & literature in both Hindi & English. Winning a junior scientist award in primary school and then topping in Physics in class 12 board exams form the basis for her love for Quantum physics and all her work with children & teachers in EXPERIENCING Science rather than cramming it up. Her love for languages made her a writer, a poet & a Solo Performer winning awards for India in various International Theatre Festivals.

It was THEATRE that gave her an identity. She was in the 1st batch of Theatre-In-education camp under Barry John at NSD, New Delhi in 1990. After graduating in sciences from Delhi University, she went on to study at University of Alabama at Birmingham and then Rutgers University as the only Indian & Asian pursuing Performing Arts in the USA in 1995. Theatre design, painting, play script analysis, set design, costume construction, carpentry, philosophy, psychology, theatre history, theatre criticism, lighting a stage, direction were her core subjects and she not only was on Dean List & Presidents’ Honor roll for getting a 100% in every subject, she was selected for the Best International Student Fellowship in UAB. Her natural gift of Acting got her selected in every Open audition and she played many parts, like in plays such as Abundance, Taming of the Shrew, The Dandelion Wine etc.

Young Artist Scholarship from Department of Culture to intern with Shayamanad Jalan at Padatik, Kolkata & Junior Fellowship to write a research thesis of Ratan Thiyam at Chorus Repertory Theatre, Manipur opened to her the dimensions of possibilities such as Contextual weaving & Visual Design respectively. She founded her own Banjara Theatre on the campus of IIT Kharagpur in the year 2001 which started with Theatre of the Absurd, then Satire, Comedy and then other genres like Musical Theatre. Banjara Children’s wing was one of the most active children’s theatre in India at that time winning her Best Director for Children Theatre award in West Bengal. By 2003 she was also the travelling Banjara with her Solo Performances: Bheesham Sahni’s Madhavi, Manjula Padmanabhan’s Hidden Fires and Saint Exupery’s The Little Prince. As Banjara moved to Mumbai, she adapted & directed some phenomenally profound plays like HIBAKUSHA, NABH TAARON SE KHANDIT PULKIT, THE ROAD TO MECCA. Her keen interest in Design & sharp eye for Aesthtics has helped her design sets, light, costumes, props, posters and soundscape for all her plays at Banjara and other directorial ventures for prestigious schools & organizations committed to a national cause.

In 2005 she was selected as the 50 Icons of India – Emerging personalities by Sahara Group. And in 2013 Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi awarded her with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for Theatre Direction: highest national award given to an artist below 40 years from Government of India in the field of Performing Arts in recognition of exceptional talent and luminosity.

From children and youth, to teachers & parents, to mothers and pregnant couples, the creation of all the workshops based on the tools of Performing & Visual Arts are all to empower and transform the current cocoon reality in every mind and make them Experience an inevitable Inner Expansion. That the purpose of an artist’s life is to add meaning & magic in every life to elevate human consciousness; is the basic founding principal of Rashi Bunny’s work. The high impact & irreversible change in individuals after her sessions comes from the power of experiencing alternate reality through Theatre, Art, Film, Music, Movement and Inner Processes. Students, teachers and youth in various colleges of repute and premiere institutes like IIM and IITs, ISDI & NIFT have been touched by the empowering experience through workshops like “ I have a Dream”, “ All the World’s a Stage”, “ My Unique BluePrint: The Inner Awakening.”

The void in the lives of youth, especially in this age of globalization & gadget flooding, made her create extremely powerful programs like INSIGHT at SACAC & SCIENCE OF LIVING at Auro University, where the understanding and unveiling of inherent qualities, necessary for life for success & happiness, like Courage, Sincerity, Humility, Perseverance were designed using tools of Performing Arts. These being the Core compulsory course in the curriculum of Law, IT, BBA MBA, BMS, PR & Advertising, Photography & Film Making, Design among other courses gave unimaginable roots & wings to the students. Expanding to the workspace of the corporate world, her experiential workshops aimed to merge the apparent gap between “heart” & “ mind” and have benefitted companies like Google, PWC, Cairn India, Pearson, Yudo Korea, CRISIL, Mariott and others.

As a Transformational facilitator & Creativity coach for workshops using the tools of Theatre, Art, Music, Creative Movement Choreography, Inner & Meditative processes with people from all ages/ sects/ social strata & professional backgrounds, she has touched the lives of thousands across the country. Rashi Bunny is a simple, joyful, dynamic woman who believes that it is mandatory for human beings to taste the elixir of life and connect with the hidden pool of talent and power within. Her socio-spiritual workshops are aimed at creating the next generation of global citizens and for this reason she works closely with teenagers, children and Expecting Parents as well as top notch corporates who can cast an influence on reformation of national/ social policies.

For her love for Arts, be it paintings or sculptures or photography & science, she has spent hours in the Museums of every city that she visited.

Last year she launched ACTORS AWAKE SERIES at Banjara Theatre where EXPERIENTIAL workshops are created to empower the common people through Performing Arts in a safe & non-judgemental space by healing basic human essence like Emotional states.

2018 turned out to be the most significant year of Rashi’s Life as she claimed and exposed her hidden powers. She lived with an illusion for decades, that like her everyone had prophetic dreams, premonitions, visions, that everyone could hear, see much more than visible or audible, that anyone could touch someone with healing hands! It wasnt true though! What she was doing from childhood, and mostly for family, friends and students, she started doing it professionally. After having lived in many ashrams of India, exploring all philosophies of gurus and scholars, seeking and learning and leaving all possible spiritual paths, she ultimately came to her OWN SELF. After her Mahakundalini Awakening, she was given the name of MEGHAN GOLD as a cosmic gift. Her Spirit Guides, Gods and Gurus, guide her along with her Light Buddies from the Intreglactice Space and SOURCE. She is fortunate to share heart space of amazingly humane & International masters like Irhaan Rae Chandran & Judy Satori. As Meghan Gold, she is serving, healing and awakening souls, human & star-seeds across the planet and is blessed on the path.

In Year 2019 she established her own company SAGE ON STAGE CREATIONS in an endeavour to reach out to larger section of humanity that was ready for transformation & self connect through Experiential workshops. The company was an extention of the work done at Banjara (the NGO) into a full-fledged corporate portfolio.

In 2019 Rashi was awarded the WOW Iconic Personality Award for being an Artist & Transformation Leader par excellence. In February 2020 She was given the CREATIVE ARTS THERAPIST AWARD for her contribution in transforming lives through theatre by Sancheti Health Care Academy.
